All four taken in overnight theft

A vehicle parked on Boulevard Way had all four wheels taken overnight on June 19-20. The Toyota was parked around 7:30 p.m. on June 19 and the theft was discovered at 4:59 a.m. on June 20.

There is no information about a suspect or suspects. The wheels and tires are valued at over $1,000 according to Piedmont Police Department Captain Chis Monahan.


On June 17, over $5,000 worth of tools were taken from a truck parked on Sandringham Avenue. A gold Infiniti M37 with a paper license plate was identified as a possible suspect vehicle, according to Captain Monahan.

The victim parked his white 2019 Ford F-350 at approximately 9:40 a.m. in front of a residence where he was working. At approximately 11 a.m., he returned to the vehicle to discover the theft. The vehicle had been left unlocked.

Among the tools taken were battery saws and grinders, battery-powered screwdrivers and drills, a jig saw and a battery charger. In addition, 17 batteries were taken.

The victim told police he had video surveillance available, according to Captain Monahan.


On June 14, police found a gold BMW motorcycle without a license plate near Kempton and Fairmount avenues at 6:55 a.m. Captain Monahan said the officers found it had a damaged ignition and fresh gold spray paint. The officers checked the VIN and found the motorcycle had been reported stolen out of Oakland. The motorcycle was towed and a message was left for the registered owner.


At approximately 5:10 a.m. on June 16, Piedmont Police found a 2016 GMC Savana parked on Clifton Street. Captain Monahan said a records check showed the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Oakland nearly two months prior. The vehicle was towed.
