A man from Piedmont was arrested for DUI in the early hours of May 24. Police contacted the man at approximately 12:12 a.m. near Ramona Avenue after the vehicle was observed speeding and weaving, according to Piedmont Police Captain Chris Monahan. He said a chemical sample was taken and that unspent ammunition was found on his person in violation of a gun violence restraining order.
The suspect was taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
At 9:53 a.m. on May 28, Piedmont police found a black Nissan Maxima parked at Harrison Street and Stanley Place that appeared to be abandoned, according to Captain Monahan. He said the rear trunk and front hood were both open, two wheels were taken off the vehicle and the back window was smashed. A records check showed the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Berkeley the day before. The registered owner was listed with an address in
Tulsa City, Oklahoma.
On May 29, a black Nissan Altima with no license plates was seen by police parked on on Grand Avenue at 10:02 p.m. A VIN check showed the vehicle had been reported stolen that same day out of Pleasant Hill.
On May 29, two unidentified pills were found in a ziploc bag in Piedmont Park around 5:03 p.m. Police could not identify the pills, which were eventually placed in a drug disposal bin.
