Dog owned by Oakland resident

A 14-year old was bitten by a dog on June 6 at Piedmont Park on Highland Avenue. The report came in at 5:14 p.m. The victim suffered a puncture would on his left hip and inner left thigh. They were taken for medical treatment by their family.

The dog belonged to an Oakland resident. A report will be forwarded to Oakland Animal Services. The owner was told that the dog is now banned from Piedmont, at least until the incident is reviewed, according to Piedmont Police Captain Chris Monahan.


On June 9, an overnight residential burglary was reported on Arbor Drive. The victim declined a police report and did not report the value of tools taken.
