Milestones | MHS 2025 graduates celebrated at Alan Harvey Theater

Eighteen Class of 2025 Millennium High School students received their diplomas in an intimate ceremony in the Alan Harvey Theater on June 4.

The small size of Piedmont’s alternative high school, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, gives teachers and administrators the opportunity to share personal stories about each graduate. MHS Principal Irma Munoz Daniels delivered introductory remarks.

Award winners included:

Shakila Zuberi – Ken Yale Leadership Award: Awarded to a student who embodies the core values of MHS: Respect, Impact, Skills, Engage (RISE)

Grace Rego – Millennium Spirit Award: Recognizes an affection for life, generosity in friendship, an inquisitive mind, cautiousness in judgment, and genuine kindness to all.

Axé Johnson – Personal Achievement Award: Recognizes a student who has not only experienced personal growth and academic achievement, but has done so while facing many challenges

John Pope – Community Contribution Award: Recognizes selflessness, generosity, and commitment to others and the MHS community

Meykeda King-Polk – Kamahn “KK” Smith African American Leadership Award is presented to a student who demonstrates promise and resilience. Includes a $500 scholarship and is a new award this year.
