An exciting panel of guest speakers will be speaking about their real world experiences in recent California wildfires, including an Eaton fire evacuee and Piedmont firefighters who provided mutual aid in Southern California.
Hear firsthand experiences of wildfire evacuations from community members, firefighters, and emergency managers this Saturday, at a community preparedness event following the Piedmont Fire Department’s citywide wildfire evacuation exercise.
Evacuation Exercise Debrief and Community Preparedness Town Hall
Saturday, June 14 @ 10 a.m.
Piedmont Fire Department, 120 Vista Avenue
At the event, community members will be invited to share their observations and questions from the morning’s evacuation exercise. Attendees will also have a chance to learn from speakers with real world experiences in recent wildfires, including an Eaton fire evacuee and Piedmont firefighters who provided mutual aid in Southern California.
Piedmont Chief Dave Brannigan will discuss some of the City’s current initiatives related to wildfire mitigation and preparedness and how community members can get involved.
Exercise instructions to be delivered via AC Alert
Community members should look for an AC Alert notification around 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 14 with instructions for completing the exercise. Residents in the Blair/Scenic/Alta neighborhood will be asked to physically evacuate their homes.
Elsewhere in the city, residents will receive instructions for an evacuation exercise they can complete at home. The at-home exercise is designed to be simple, easy to complete, and high impact.
Those not yet signed up for AC Alert notifications can register at bit.ly/ACAlert.
