Pinot noir enthusiasts from across the country will enjoy the fruit of Mendocino County’s wine labor at this weekend’s Pinot Noir Festival in Anderson Valley.
The annual three-day event showcases pinot noirs from Mendocino, Napa and Sonoma counties, as well as local food. It also offers opportunities for laypeople and industry insiders alike to learn about pinot.
The weekend includes educational industry seminars about the state of the pinot noir industry in the North Coast region of California, as well as how the industry is incorporating artificial intelligence and addressing climate change.
There will also be a tour of Husch Vineyards, a family-owned sustainable winery and vineyard. The tour will showcase the vineyards’ 50-year history of eco-friendly farming practices.
There will also be plenty of chances to drink wine and dine on local cuisine.
A Friday night barbecue at Lula Vineyards will offer a chance to mix and mingle with winemakers and taste library wines.
On Saturday, a sparkling wine brunch will be followed by the Grand Tasting, which features wine from over 50 wineries and chefs from across Mendocino County serving locally sourced offerings ranging from local cheese and seafood to wood-fired pizzas.
The weekend wraps up with open houses at wineries throughout Anderson Valley. Participating wineries will offer special tastings, music, small bites, tours and other special offerings.
The 26th annual Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Festival takes place May 16-18 at various locations throughout Anderson Valley. Tickets start at $76 and can be purchased through Eventbrite.
