Are you and your kids looking to level up your family biking skills? Join the free bike festival on the Havens Elementary School blacktop on Saturday, May 10, from noon – 4 p.m.
The festival includes:
Family Cycling Workshop, by Bike East Bay from noon – 2:30 p.m. (You must be there at the start, parents should also bring a bike.) Register HERE
This workshop is for kids who are able to ride a bike and are ready to take to the paths and roadways with their parents (suggested grade range 2nd-6th). The event includes instruction on:
fitting a helmet
performing a bike safety check
communicating with other road users
riding in a straight line and avoiding obstacles
as well as navigating safely through intersections, all while playing fun games!
All minors must be accompanied by an adult to participate, both with their own working bikes and helmets.
If the class is full, you can be added to the wait list or be notified about future sessions as they are added.
Please note: Our family events are for parents and kids to participate in together. If you are interested in an in-school or youth-only bike rodeo we recommend following up with our friends at Cycles of Change instead, by emailing DriveYourBike@CyclesOfChange.org.
