It was an overcast, chilly Sunday afternoon for the Piedmont Recreation Department’s second annual free Pop-Up Putt Putt party at the Community Hall parking lot, but the weather did not deter a steady stream of families from trying their hand at 19 novelty holes created by city staff, residents, and local community groups.
The event featured a Mobile Golf Simulator (sponsored by ACE Kids Golf), beer from Line 51 Bus and live music by DJ Kev, who kept the mood upbeat throughout the afternoon.
Designs ran the gamut, and presented enough obstacles and hazards to keep participants occupied to the very last hole. The Piedmont Makers in particular turned heads with their colorful robot entry.

A special thanks to Friend of the Exedra Bill Reichle, who designed and built our first entry, an homage to the 100th anniversary of the Exedra in Piedmont Park.
