The Marin County Career Explorer Program is accepting applications for eight-week paid internships for youths ages 15 to 21.
The program provides work experience in a county department, according to the Probation Department, which funds the internships.
Interns earn $18.50 an hour for up to 25 hours a week. A two-week orientation period that starts June 16 is followed by a six-week placement with a county department from June 30 through Aug. 8.
“We’re opening doors for young people, regardless of their past or where they come from,” Chief Probation Officer Marlon Washington said in a press release Friday.
“Some have walked through the justice system themselves or watched family members do the same. But here, they find hope, purpose, and the power to rewrite their future,” he said.
To learn more about the program, email the Career Explorer Program staff at ywfc@marincounty.gov or call (415) 473-6675.
