The Board of Education convened a special Board meeting on the morning of March 4 to unanimously approve two new positions: a director of human resources and a personnel technician. At the same time, they also adopted a resolution to lay off the district’s two full time HR managers.
Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Hawn said in an email to the Exedra that the district was reorganizing its human resources duties. In a memo to the Board, Hawn said that eliminating the two HR positions makes it possible to add the new HR director and technician position with no budget impact.
The salary range for the new director position is between $167,000 and $196,000 annually and the personnel technician role has a salary scale between $73,742 – $90,648, per the new job descriptions, with a July 1, 2025 start.
