The city installed a new pedestrian bridge over Bushy Dell Creek in lower Piedmont Park on Thursday. The bridge, which has a weathered steel frame and pressure-treated wood decking, was fabricated off site and replaces an aging bridge that had deteriorated over time and collapsed in some places.
The city said on Friday that the bridge should be open for use in a couple of weeks after final concrete is poured and the site is cleaned up.
This project was supported by State of California Proposition 68 grant funds.
