Piedmont High School’s girls basketball team split a nonleague season series with Antelope, beating the Titans at Binks Gymnasium on Feb. 8, 61-47.
The Highlanders lost at Antelope on Jan. 25, 53-51. Antelope is unincorporated, located near Roseville north of Sacramento.
Andrea Martin lead Piedmont with 24 points, 10 rebounds, six blocked shots and four steals. Jenelle Solis had 15 points, six assists, two steals and two rebounds. Savannah Dennig had 10 points and seven rebounds. Taylor White had eight rebounds and three assists to go with three points for the Highlanders. Briana Webb had five rebounds, three assists and three points.
Kamaria Charlo led the Titans with 19 points. Paradise Manning had 11 points.
Piedmont took an 18-12 lead after the first quarter but Antelope rallied to forge a 30-28 lead at
halftime. It was 42-41 Highlanders entering the fourth quarter.
Martin had eight points in the fourth quarter, making all four of her free throws. Solis had five points in the fourth.
Charlo had six points in the fourth quarter but was the only Titan who scored in the period.
Piedmont is scheduled to host Alameda on Feb. 12. The Highlanders are now 19-4 on the season.
