Three suspects are wanted in a strong-arm robbery reported on La Salle Avenue on Jan. 21. The incident was reported at 2:20 p.m. The victim said he was walking towards his vehicle (a white 2019 Dodge Ram) and noticed a white Lexus SV parked behind his vehicle. As the victim was opening his door, two suspects approached. One put a gun to his head, the other went to the bed of the truck and began taking tools.
The suspects returned to the Lexus and fled eastbound on La Salle, according to Captain Chris Monahan of the Piedmont Police Department.
The suspect who had the gun was described as a Black male, approximately 30 years old, 6- foot-4, approximately 200 pounds. The suspect that removed the tools was described as a Black male, 25-30 years old, unknown height, 180 pounds wearing a blue sweater. A third suspect was described as a female adult. The loss is reported to be $2,000 worth of tools. The Lexus reportedly had no license plates.
On the same day, another robbery was previously reported. That happened on Ramona Avenue at 11:40 a.m. A black sports car linked to the report was later found. It was rented by a female. The suspects in the incident are male, according to Captain Monahan.
On Jan. 24, a vehicle was found parked in the middle of the road at Sheridan and Wildwood Avenues at 4:57 a.m. The rear window had been smashed and the ignition had been tampered with, according to the police log. The vehicle was found to belong to a Piedmont resident, who was notified.
On Jan. 20, gardening equipment was reported stolen out of the bed of a 2003 Toyota Tundra between 9:05-9:08 a.m. The suspects fled in a black SUV. The reported loss is $400 according to Captain Monahan.
On Jan. 19, a 2018 Honda Odyssey was observed by police parked on Piedmont Avenue at 1:45 p.m. A records check showed it had been reported stolen out of Oakland. The vehicle was towed.
