Piedmont Council Scouting America is re-launching Sea Scouts

Do you have kids aged 14 to 20 who love water-based activities like kayaking, SUP, sailing, and rafting?

We want to restart a co-ed Sea Scouts program and we’re looking for interested youth and adults to serve as program leaders. Sea Scouts is an aquatics-based Scouting program in which young men and women learn seamanship, leadership, service, and teamwork. And, they have lots of fun, too. Scouts are recognized and rewarded for the things they learn and do – for example, they can earn certifications in SCUBA, boating safety, lifesaving, and CPR.

Like other Scouting programs, Sea Scouts is Scout-led with adult mentoring. Adults, if you haven’t led a group of kids and young adults before, that’s OK, as we can train you!

Want to know more? We’re holding an information session on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025 at the Scout office located at 10 Highland Way.

RSVP to Eris Turner, Piedmont Scout office: 510-844-4752 or eturner@piedmontbsa.org
