Piedmont Education Foundation (PEF) announced today that the Giving Campaign has so far raised close to $3.5 million for Piedmont schools from 1,100 households. This is an increase of $120,000 from this time last year.
“Just six years ago, our annual goal was $2.5 million, and that was a stretch,” says PEF executive director Heather Frank. “That PUSD is now able to budget receiving $3.5 million in contributions from PEF in multi-year projections is a testament to the incredible generosity of this community, and the hard work of the PEF Board and Giving Campaign volunteers.” Frank adds that contributions are still coming in each day.
The Giving Campaign will remain open and accepting donations through June 30. However, the deadline to give or pledge for donors to be featured in the annual Giving Campaign donor listings published locally is Wednesday, January 15.
At a meeting of the PUSD School Board on Jan. 8, Frank and Giving Campaign co-chair Catie Osborn provided an update on one of the ongoing participation challenges. As announced in December, the Giving Campaign will give a prize to the class where parent participation this year is greater than the participation from last year. So far, this year’s 8th and 11th grade parents have exceeded the participation percentages of last year’s 8th and 11th grade
parents. This challenge will also remain open until Jan. 15.
