Dear Community,
It’s because of your donations that PUSD is able to offer the programs that make it the #1 school district in Northern California. We are proud to announce that the Giving Campaign has raised nearly $3.6 million (and counting!) for Piedmont schools. Thank you so much for your amazing generosity. That you have contributed so much during a parcel tax year is a testament to how much our community truly values our schools.
We hope you had a chance to see Superintendent Jennifer Hawn’s State of the Schools presentation at the January 8 school board meeting. She spoke of the incredible strides PUSD is making by investing in outstanding academics and creating an environment to thrive for all students. This highlights the impact your donations have on our schools.
We especially want to extend our deepest gratitude for the dedication of our amazing volunteers. Scores of people delivered lawn signs, showed up for text banks, reached out to past donors, updated banners, wrote news articles, tabled at school, sent emails, passed out popsicles, and presented at meetings. A huge, extra thank you to the PEF board and the Parents Club presidents and site representatives.
Every year we learn a little bit more about our community, about fundraising, and the extras that are made possible through community support. This year we learned about the amazing ceramics program at PHS and the informational presentations for 8th graders. We also learned that the high level of communication from our principals and the distribution of course syllabi to parents is not the norm for most California districts.
We are invested in the success of our students and are still hoping to raise a few more dollars and move participation up a notch. You can contribute through June 30 at Piedmont Education Foundation, 401 Highland Ave.
With gratitude,
Kim and Catie
