Pele Love had 12 points to lead the Trojans. Bennett Kayser had 11 while Evan Brewster scored 10.
Terra Linda got out to a good start, taking a 15-12 lead after one quarter. But the Highlanders rallied and held a 32-25 lead at halftime.
On Jan. 20, Piedmont lost to old foe Branson 73-64 at the MLK Showcase at Merritt College. The Highlanders and Bulls have played in the North Coast Section playoffs three times in recent years.
Silverberg scored 22 points and Casey added 16. Lucian Fang Ring added nine points.
The Bulls were led by 22 points from N.J. Gray and 20 from Chase Robertson. Tyler Wells had 14.
Branson got out to a 24-14 lead in the first quarter. Piedmont cut it to 34-29 at halftime and the teams battled to the end.
“Slow starts with this young team,” said Highlanders coach Ben Spencer. “Teams make long runs without us scoring, but we always battled back. Battled back and beat Terra Linda. Battled back with Branson and were down 64-61 with three minutes to go. The team is resilient, but young.”
Spencer said the team had 20 assists on 23 field goals and only 10 turnovers vs Branson. Piedmont lost at home to Alameda 74-60 on Jan. 23. No other information was available.
The Highlanders are now 9-9 on the season, 1-3 in West Alameda County Conference Foothill Division play. Their next scheduled game is a nonleague tilt at Novato on Jan. 25.
