The Bay Area is in for a wet weekend, when a storm is forecast to bring rain, gusty winds and possible flooding to some parts of the region.

Rain is expected Friday evening into Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Minor coastal flooding is expected along the shores of San Francisco Bay and San Pablo Bay, and a coastal flood advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. Monday.

A North Bay flood watch has been extended through 4 p.m. Sunday. “While Sunday looks dry, we’ve extended the flood watch to account for the delayed response in the larger rivers, which are expected to crest around mid-day Sunday,” the weather service said Thursday on social media.

Another round of light rain is expected late Sunday into Monday.
