Breed: Mini Aussie doodle (not so mini — she’s 30 lbs)
Adoption story: We went to visit family in Ohio and my aunt had the most fabulous new dog. I instantly fell in love and before getting home to Piedmont we were on the list to get a new puppy — a half-sister of their dog. When we went to pick Pepper up, we fell in love with two puppies. We were showing other people photos of the puppies and my brother who lives in Berkeley ended up adopting the second puppy, Pepper’s sister TimTam. The sister dogs love to play.
Likes: Pepper likes play time with her friends, belly rubs, eating fish, and taking wool socks. She is also food motivated and she likes to learn new tricks – especially when there are treats involved.
Dislikes: Pepper does not like trombone practice, she will find the corner of the house furthest from the trombone. She’s also not a big fan of scary Halloween decorations. We often had to cross the street when walking in town in October to keep far away from the decorations.
Interesting facts: When Pepper was a pup, we had four kids at home (our three kids and our exchange student) and there was lots of enthusiasm to teach her tricks. She’s a good sport and very tolerant. When she sees a treat and is excited, she will circle through the tricks she knows ahead of prompting.
Anything else: Pepper is very excited to see people she loves and vibrates with excitement (no tail to balance the wiggle). This year she was “Woof” for Halloween to join in the family Waldo costume.
