Who’s That Good Dog?

Gigi Ero

Family: Charlotte, Mike, Thomas and Oliver (black lab) Ero

Pet: Gigi (Ginger/Gingeroo)

Age: 3 years old

Breed: “Miniature Pinscher, Chi, Poodle, and Terrier Mix” … apparently.

Adoption story: We adopted Gigi from Rocket Dog Rescue in January 2023.  Her giant ears caught our attention. She was our Covid puppy – we literally all had Covid when we adopted her. Gigi joined our family as our second pup to Oliver. He says he wasn’t consulted and sometimes still wonders when she is leaving, but he likes that she campaigns harder than him for dinner and dental chews.

Oliver, Thomas, and Gigi

Likes: Gigi loves her family but not many others. She loves her big brother Oliver, but no other big dogs. She is a lap dog who loves cuddles and sleeping under the bed covers. She loves her toy llama, hedgehog, and balls. She also is always doing the zoomies – aka puppy parkour. She loves zooming around the house, launching herself off steps, on and off the furniture, throwing her ball in the air and pouncing on it. She can also always be found sunbathing, no matter how small the patch of sun is. She also likes climbing on the counters to look for food if the opportunity presents itself.

Dislikes: Gigi has a highly tuned “Stranger Danger” alert system. Especially if you come in her house. However she also doesn’t like people leaving the house, even if she didn’t want them to come in in the first place.

Interesting facts: Gigi weighs only 13 lbs but she likes to try to boss her 60 lb brother around.

Anything Else: Oliver has always howled if he is lonely, thinks it’s time to get up, thinks his dinner is late or generally feels a little blue or frustrated. Gigi has learned to join in and harmonize his singing.
