Middle-aged white male is suspect
Two “high-value” bicycles were stolen from the driveway of a home on Glen Alpine Road on Nov. 14, according to Piedmont Police.
The theft took place at approximately 12:09 p.m. The suspect is described as a white male, 40-45 years old, about 5-foot-10, 170 pounds, according to Piedmont Police Department Captain Chris Monahan. He was wearing a red hat, red shirt, black pants and red and black shoes, according to Captain Monahan.
He said a flock Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) check found the getaway car — a white, four-door Nissan Altima, which is also is linked to a grand theft on Nov. 13 on Crocker Avenue.
The police log described the bicycles as an army green Kona and an all black Specialized. Captain Monahan said the investigation is ongoing.
Early in the morning of Nov. 9, several calls came in regarding an argument on Sandringham Road. According to the police log, calls came in at 2:39 a.m. about a man and woman yelling at each other and a honking horn. Both people were detained on scene but neither was arrested, according to Captain Monahan. He said it was a political argument and that alcohol was involved.
Also on Nov. 9, some garbage was reportedly dumped at the Rose Garden on Olive Avenue. Public works was called to clean it up.
Finally, Captain Monahan had no further information when asked if there was anything more to the false alarm on Nov. 12 of a male subject with an AR-15 in front of Piedmont High School. The school was one of several to receive a false alarm.
