Veterans Hall was transformed into an exhibition hall on Sunday, with local community groups turning out to showcase their offerings to the community at the Adult Recreation Expo. Recreation Commissioners Dick Carter and Lisa Gardner brought the idea to life, and the result was an afternoon of community building, conversation, and connection aimed at adults.

“We appreciate all the support we received from the City of Piedmont, the Recreation Department, the Piedmont Adult School, the Piedmont Center for the Arts, and all the groups that presented their Piedmont recreational programs to the over 150 people who attended the Expo. It seemed everyone enjoyed the event,” said Recreation Commissioner and organizer Dick Carter.
Carter said he hopes the Expo becomes an annual event, and was especially pleased that so many older adults participated.
The Piedmont Recreation Department and the PUSD Adult School both offer classes for older adults and seniors. Check the PRD seasonal Activities Guide for offerings HERE and the Adult School HERE to see samples of what is typically offered. Winter classes will be announced soon.
