PBF spearheads refurbishment of benches in Crocker Park

The Piedmont Beautification Foundation (PBF) has long provided a meaningful way for community members to honor loved ones through commemorative benches and trees. These tributes not only celebrate cherished individuals and memorable moments but also enhance the charm and serenity of our public spaces.

PBF is thrilled to announce a special addition to its offerings: the refurbishment of vintage metal benches from the early 1900s in Crocker Park. These beautifully restored benches now serve as an alternative to the traditional wooden ones. Currently, five refurbished benches are underway, with two already purchased and three still open for dedication.

The restoration is being expertly handled by Conrad Craig, a renowned metal craftsman. Each bench undergoes sandblasting and receives a durable powder coating, ensuring both longevity and a striking appearance. The period design from the early twentieth century will provide a stunning contrast to the wooden ones, enhancing the natural beauty of Crocker Park, affectionately called “Bear Park.”

This initiative aligns with PBF’s 60th anniversary, celebrating decades of dedication to restoring historic features and fostering a safe, sustainable, and beautiful community in partnership with the city. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, projects like this continue to preserve Piedmont’s unique character.

If you’re interested in dedicating one of the remaining metal benches as a tribute, please reach out to PBF.Piedmont@gmail.com.
