An unknown male was reported to be in the backyard of a home on Olive Avenue early in the morning of Sept. 21. The report came in at 5:41 a.m. Piedmont Police Department officers arrived and found the man walking on Olive.
Police found the front doorbell damaged and video showed the suspect trying to pry the doorbell camera off, according to Piedmont Police Department Captain Chris Monahan. He said the residents did not want to press charges but that one requested the suspect be advised to stay away with a trespass notice. The suspect was served with the notice and released.
At 2:53 a.m. on Sept. 21, a 2023 Mercedes Benz EQB250 was stolen on Bonita Avenue. The keys had been left in the vehicle. Officers later found the car near 22nd Avenue and Commerce Way in Oakland, according to Captain Monahan. He said the vehicle was released back to the victim.
A 2011 Infiniti G37x reported stolen out of Stockton was recovered on Sept. 21. An officer found the vehicle parked at Manila Avenue and West MacArthur Boulevard around 3:18 p.m. A records check showed it was stolen and the vehicle was towed.
On Sept. 24, a silver 2008 Infiniti G37s was found parked with no license plates on Winsor Avenue and Wallace Road. A records check showed it had been reported stolen out of Oakland. The vehicle, which was found at 2:38 a.m., was warm to the touch, according to Captain Monahan. It was towed.
Also on Sept. 24, at 1:10 p.m., officers found a parked 2017 Hyundai Sonata on Kempton Way. A records check showed the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Hayward. The vehicle was towed.
At 1:46 p.m. on the same day, police found a 2011 Ford E350 motorhome with no plates parked at Santa Clara Avenue and Harrison Street. The VIN was checked and the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Oakland. The vehicle was towed.
