Letter to the Editor | Yes on P to support tireless, nurturing educators

My daughter Avery started in the Piedmont school district at Piedmont High School. We received a lot of support from the schools/district, and she is now part of the intimate, nimble, and amazing community at Millennium High School. Due to budget deficits and faced with losing key teachers/roles that would have major impact on our children, the team took on expanded roles, did more with less, and as always, showed up for our kids.

People like Mr. Ken Brown, who takes time to listen and advise Avery, providing a safe space to be heard and challenged. Ms. Stefanie Manalo-LeClair, our school counselor, who works tirelessly to ensure the success of all our students. The CEC program, with nurturing people like Jeremy Spence, with their heart and soul, often working with me late into the evening. Irma Munoz-Daniels, our principal who deeply cares and leads to provide essential support to the entire MHS community to ensure its success.

As Piedmont residents, we have a responsibility to lead and invest in the people/programs that directly impact the children that form our future. Please join me and vote yes on Measure P
