For the second time ever, on Oct. 23 the Piedmont Affinity Mentors student group led a School Board candidate panel with Michael Malione, Max Roman, and Susy Struble — the three candidates running for three open spots on the Board. The MCs were Hunter Fasteau, Meher Bachher, and Zoe Snyder. The panelists were Friedje Schickedanz, Kalyani Spieckerman, Gen Hiller, Inaya Majid, Stephanie Lee, and Dahlia Saffouri.
Students asked hard questions about mental health issues, the cell phone ban, diversity work, and funding for the arts. The panelists consisted of Affinity Mentors in partnership with ASB. This will be followed up with a mock election on Nov. 5 held during lunchtime in the Quad.
