This asymmetrically floppy-eared rescue loves her mom, the park and the beach. Cats, not so much.
Name: Maddie Espinal
Members of Family: Christine Espinal
Age: 8
Breed: Some sort of Terrier mix
Adoption Story: Christine went to a shelter in Antioch, where she lives, and saw Maddy sitting amongst the other dogs. She looked so sad, and it was impossible to leave her. Maddy was about three at the time. The rescue agency said that she was a really calm, couch potato kind of dog. Once Maddy came home, however, she had so much energy, and was running all over the place. It was really sweet how she came out of her shell once she was adopted— finally happy.
Likes: She loves the park, car rides, and the beach. She loves going to the beach in Alameda when Christine’s daughter dog-sits her. She is also obsessed with squirrels. Her favorite food is whatever we’re eating.
Dislikes: She doesn’t like cats—she won’t fight them, but she’ll avoid them.
Interesting facts: One of her ears is perpetually facing down; we don’t know why.
Anything else: She is just such a sweet girl.
