Notice of Night Work at Community Pool construction site
Dates: Sept. 29 – Oct. 4, 10 p.m. – 6 a.m.
Impacts: Noise, Road Closure, Light
East Bay MUD (EBMUD) will be performing night work to install water service at the new community pool for five nights starting Sunday, Sept. 29. Work will take place between 10pm and 6am, and will be completed by 6am on Friday, Oct. 4.During this period:
• Magnolia Avenue will be closed to traffic between Hillside and Bonita from 10 p.m. to 6am.
• There will be loud construction noise on Sunday night, including saw-cutting and jackhammering, as crews dig a trench on Magnolia.
• There will be moderate construction noise on Monday-Thursday nights.
• The work area will be brightly lit.
• Water service in the surrounding area will not be interrupted.
The City understands that this work is disruptive. We want to stress to the community that we are doing everything possible to minimize impacts to the surrounding neighborhood. This work would create safety risks for students if done during school hours. Additionally, the nighttime schedule allows EBMUD to reduce the construction period by two weeks and minimize disruptions to area schools.
We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we work towards opening Piedmont’s new aquatics facility.
