Shakespeare’s ‘Winter’s Tale’ comes to Dracena Park Sunday, Aug. 11

Enjoy a free performance of Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale in Dracena Park on Sunday, August 11, presented by the Vallejo Shakespeare Group:

The Winter’s Tale
Sunday, August 11 @ 4:00 p.m.
Lower Dracena Park, enter on Artuna Avenue

The performance will take place in the quarry area, next to the grove of dawn redwoods. Seating is first come, first served and will be picnic-style on the lawn. Bring a blanket or a low beach chair to enjoy the performance. Friendly, well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be on leash. We encourage attendees to walk, bike, or carpool. Parking in the area is extremely limited.

This performance marks the third appearance of Vallejo Shakespeare at Dracena Park. The group previously brought stagings of Hamlet (2023) and Henry V (2019). Established in 2010, Vallejo Shakespeare Group produces one live Shakespeare production each summer, with free performances in outdoor settings across the Bay Area. The troupe uses minimal sets and costuming, putting the focus on the actors performances.
