Looking to add more adult programming and to make use of the city-owned 801 Magnolia building, the Piedmont Recreation Department is launching “801nce/month”– monthly programming for the over 21 crowd that features a rotating set of social activities.

Starting on Sept. 18 , PRD will host a Paint ‘n Sip evening, followed by Trivia Night on Oct. 16 and a Mixology class on Nov. 6. PRD will offer childcare; the cost for each special event varies.

Recreation Supervisor Eve Phalen told Recreation Commission members on Aug. 21 that more events for winter and spring are in the works, citing whiskey tasting and a flamenco-paella night among options under consideration.

Phalen also said PRD has started a free, weekly Mahjong social club that meets Tuesday evenings through October. No experience necessary to join.

Registration for all PRD programs opened August 8. View the guide HERE. You must register for classes through Community Pass.
