Bard fans of all ages flocked to the grassy setting of the former rock quarry on Sunday. Supplied with lawn chairs and picnic spreads, they settled in to enjoy the story of misplaced jealousy and happy endings as staged by Vallejo Shakespeare.
Last Sunday marked the troupe’s final performance for the season and their third appearance at Dracena Park. The group previously brought stagings of Hamlet (2023) and Henry V (2019).
Established in 2010, Vallejo Shakespeare produces one live Shakespeare production each summer, with free performances in outdoor settings across the Bay Area. The troupe uses minimal sets and costuming, putting the focus on the actors performances.
