RISE & SHINE PIEDMONT!

Have you heard about the sourdough stand on Palm Drive in Piedmont? It’s called Saturday Sourdough. I’ve been hearing about it for a while and decided to go check it out. I took my dog Lola, and we walked over to the most beautiful set-up on Jovie Strzelecki’s lawn at 230 Palm Drive.

The pop up on Jovie’s front lawn has only been happening for a couple months but she’s been selling sourdough for 8 months and baking it now for 4.5-5 years.

FROM HOBBY TO SIDE HUSTLE

Jovie:  It started as a hobby during the pandemic and I just loved it.  I love the science behind it, I love tinkering with different formulas.

The word has gotten out about Saturday Sourdough. Jovie sells out within a couple of hours.

Jovie:  I bake classic sourdough. I bake flavors like garlic, sweet flavors like ube vanilla, I do whole grain varieties, seeded varieties, and I do some sandwich breads and pastries like cinnamon rolls, cardamon knots and sometimes scones.

Jovie has a day job.

Jovie:  I’m an audiologist so I work with people with hearing loss, hearing aids. So this is totally different.

NEIGHBORHOOD REACTION
Saturday Soughdough Neighborhood Reaction

But you can find her on her front lawn selling her sourdough on Saturday.

What’s the reaction been from neighbors?

Jovie:  So supportive — so warm and so supportive — and I’m so grateful.

Want to try Saturday Sourdough and can’t make it to the stand? Don’t worry. They take online orders and even deliver in and around Piedmont. Visit the Saturday Sourdough facebook page to place your order.
