The Piedmont High School Class of 2024 threw their caps into the air on a beautiful May 31 evening at Witter Field. The joyous occasion was especially meaningful for the 200+ students — and their families — who started their high school years during the first year of the pandemic in 2020 when schools moved to distance learning.
Valedictorian Isaac Saxonov, Salutatorian Mark Hsia, and senior class speaker Breah Bell made remarks, followed by the presentation of the class gift by Senior Class President Jane Hempeck. The commencement speaker was VP of Products, Azure AI at Microsoft, Marco S. Casalaina, who spoke about how AI will affect students’ futures.
