A man was arrested near Beach Elementary School on April 18 and was found to have two warrants for his arrest, including for indecent exposure. He was also possessing methamphetamine.
The incident occurred at 1:31 a.m. A Piedmont police officer was performing a security check at the school, according to Piedmont Police Capt. Chris Monahan. The officer made contact with a male walking near the school. The man was identified as Michael Booker and a records search found he had two warrants in Alameda County, one for indecent exposure and the other a sex registrant violation, according to Monahan. A bag with white powder in it was found as well. It was later tested and identified as methamphetamine, according to
Monahan. The suspect was taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
On April 15, a residential burglary was reported on Boulevard Way. The incident happened at 1:41 p.m. An unknown suspect broke the glass to the rear patio door, according to Monahan. The suspect stole approximately $7,000 worth of jewelry and caused $2,000 worth of damage to the door. A witness described the suspect as a Black male in his early 20s, tall, slim, and wearing a grey tracksuit, according to Monahan. The suspect reportedly fled after getting into the passenger seat of a black 2018 Honda Accord headed towards Grand Avenue.
At 3:30 p.m. on April 14, a Piedmont police officer observed a beige GMC pickup with no license plate driving on Grand Avenue. The driver parked and exited the vehicle, according to Monahan. He said the officer then checked the vehicle’s VIN and found the vehicle was reported stolen in San Jose. Two other officers arrived and found the driver. The suspect was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and a probation violation.
