Piedmont boys lacrosse beats Acalanes, Terra Linda

Piedmont High School’s boys lacrosse team scored a pair of big nonleague victories. On April 22, the Highlanders defeated visiting Terra Linda, 9-3. Oliver Shafroth had four goals and Connor Fredericks added two. Rylan Nelson, Andrew McLaughlin, and Brendan Devine each scored one. Nelson had three assists while McLaughlin and Keita Clear had one apiece.

Gus Von Metzsch had five saves.

Cole Simon scored two goals for Terra Linda while Cameron Gregiore had the other.

On April 17, Piedmont scored a 9-7 win at Acalanes. Nelson had three goals and three assists to lead Piedmont. Cairo Osman, Shafroth, and Fredericks each scored two goals. Fredericks added an assist.

Gus Von Metzsch had 11 saves for the Highlanders.

Simon Appel had four goals for the Dons. Griffin Rotundo had two goals and Jan Korzeniowski had one.

Next up is the West Alameda County Conference tournament, scheduled to begin on April 24. Piedmont finished the regular season 8-4, 2-2 in WACC play.
