The Piedmont High School Dance Class presents its Spring Dance Concert, “Tale As Old As Time,” Friday May 3 and Saturday May 4 at 7 p.m. The concert is appropriate for the entire family.
Saturday night’s concert features a short adaptation of “The Red Shoes” choreographed by Amy Moorhead who celebrates 30 years of teaching dance at PHS this year. NYC playwright Andrew Moorhead (PHS ‘11) has created this adaptation of “The Red Shoes,” originally a tale by Hans Christian Andersen. It tells the story of a girl who falls in love with a pair of red shoes, which lead her to be torn between conflicting passions. Saturday night’s show includes a student choreography showcase with pieces inspired by fairy tales. The entire concert will last approximately one hour.
Friday night’s 7 p.m. performance is an abbreviated student choreography showcase only and does not include “The Red Shoes.” The performance will last approximately 45 minutes.
Tickets are available online or at the door. A flex pass is available for both performances. Reach out to amoorhead@piedmont.k12.ca.us with any questions. Purchase tickets and flex passes online HERE.
