Piedmont High School’s boys lacrosse team earned the 11th seed in the North Coast Section Division 1 playoffs. The Highlanders will open up at No. 6 San Ramon Valley on April 30 at 7 p.m.
Piedmont went 8-5 on the season, falling to Bishop O’Dowd 10-2 in the semifinals of the West Alameda County Conference playoffs.
The Highlanders are in Division 1 due to the NCS competitive equity rule after years of success in Division 2.
Piedmont went 4-1 against Division 1 competition this season.
San Ramon Valley is 12-6 and went 7-2 in East Bay Athletic League play. The EBAL is one of the toughest leagues in the Bay Area.
The winner of the match will take on third-seeded De La Salle, which won the EBAL. That match would take place on May 2.
