A New Perspective: A WOW moment | Real Estate Insights

Making your house memorable (or why I’m still hanging wallpaper at 63).

The personal stories of one Realtor’s battles and triumphs in the highly-competitive Bay Area Real Estate Market, seeking to illuminate and humanize the very real ups-and-downs of homeownership.

It’s been a busy week for our team and Jill, Sarah, Kate and I are each covering a lot of ground, not to mention a million and one loose ends. It’s 9:00pm on Thursday evening and I’m just now sitting down to begin The Perspective (this may be a first). So forgive me if I forego the usual essay and just share my afternoon’s work product instead . . . .

Jill and I spent a few hours installing this extraordinary, OVER-SCALED wallpaper at a very cool industrial Jack London Loft that we’re bringing to market next week. It’s a “wow” moment to be sure and it’s going to look even better once staged. (I think I’m in love.) Happily, this one went up with no fuss, no muss and it’s a statement piece to be sure. (Granted, it may not be everybody’s cup of tea but it certainly won’t be forgotten.)

Not for nothing, but every house should work to achieve a magical moment whether it’s a beckoning garden, a cozy reading nook, or stylish accordion doors that seamlessly marry the indoors with the outdoors; something that separates your house from the pack and makes a Buyer want to explore further . . . Not only will you enjoy the spaces more, they’re also likely to make MORE of an impact when you decide to sell.

How each of us defines “magic” may be as different as we are, but it’s hard to deny a warm and inviting atmosphere, so create something special. It’s important to make your property memorable (which is why I’ m still hanging wallpaper at 63).

In any case, it’s been a jam-packed day, on the heels of a jam-packed week, so I’m putting myself to bed. I’ve definitely earned it.

How can we help you?
