Piedmont Middle School Assistant Principal Angela Barrett will be moving on to a new position as principal of Alameda High School next year, PUSD announced in an email on March 25. Barrett was hired in 2022.
Barrett is the latest administrator to leave at the end of the school year. Director of Special Education Douglas Harter is retiring and PHS Principal Sukanya Goswami is leaving to pursue other professional and academic opportunities.
In a message to the PMS community last week, PMS Principal Karen Shipp wished Barrett well:
Ms. Barrett has been an integral part of our school community, bringing her passion for education and deep care for our students. She has made a lasting impact on our school, fostering a positive and inclusive environment where students thrive. Her leadership, guidance, and support have been invaluable to us, and we are grateful for the time we have had together.
As Ms. Barrett embarks on this new chapter in her career, we know that she will continue to inspire and make a difference in the lives of students and educators alike. While her presence will be greatly missed, we are excited to see her flourish in this new role and are confident that she will bring the same dedication and passion to her new school community.
Please join me in congratulating Ms. Barrett on this well-deserved appointment. Thank you for everything you have done for PMS. You have left an indelible mark on our community, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
