The Piedmont High School boys lacrosse team dropped a pair of matches to West Alameda County Conference rivals.
On March 22, the visiting Highlanders fell at Bishop O’Dowd, 10-4. Rylan Nelson scored three goals to lead Piedmont. Curtis Hohener had the other goal. Oliver Shafroth had an assist. Gus Von Metzsch had nine saves.
The Dragons got two goals apiece from Julian Scott, Diego Paredes, and Jacob Glasgow. The latter added two assists. Julien Gardner, Kaiel Taylor-Wang, Jake Lim, and Lucas Cavallo-Merrion had single goals for Bishop O’Dowd.
The Dragons got out to a 6-0 lead at halftime and cruised to the win.
On March 28, Piedmont lost at home to Berkeley, 11-4. Hohener had two goals while Nelson had a goal and two assists. Shafroth had the other goal for the Highlanders.
Ivan Watson led Berkeley with four goals. Marc Rebusi had three goals and an assist for the Yellowjackets. Satchell Wells had two goals and an assist while Ty Manning recorded a goal and an assist. Hayden and Becker Hockenbrock had a goal apiece.
Piedmont is now 6-4 on the season, 2-2 in WACC play. The Highlanders are next scheduled to play at home against Terra Linda on April 4.
