Piedmont boys golf takes 4 of 5 on links

Piedmont High School’s boys golf team is on a roll. The Highlanders have won four of five matches since opening the season with a split decision in a three-way match. They are now 5-2 on the season.

On March 20, Piedmont defeated Castro Valley and Berkeley in a three-way match at Tilden Park Golf Course. The Highlanders had the low team score of 214, with Castro Valley next at 216 and Berkeley at 233.

Bodhi Bloemker was low for Piedmont at 36, just one over par. That tied for medalist honors. Derek Lee shot a 37 while P.J. Brayer had a 45. River Bloemker shot a 49 and Romi Bhatia had a 57. The top five players score.

On March 13, the Highlanders split with Bishop O’Dowd and Arroyo at the Metropolitan Golf Links. The Dragons came out on top, shooting 214 as a team. Piedmont was next at 229 and Arroyo brought up the rear with a 279.

Bodhi Bloemker was again low for the Highlanders with a two-over-par 38, lowest on the day. Lee was next with a 40. Jackson Van Kleeck shot a 48, with River Bloemker at 51, followed by Brayer’s 52 and Julien Porter’s 53.

On March 6, Piedmont defeated Encinal in nine holes at Chuck Corica Park Golf Course, 167-178. Bodhi Bloemker shot a 28 (+ 1), with Lee next at 30 and Brayer at 35. River Bloemker shot a 36, followed by Van Kleeck (38) and Jackson Lommen (39).

The Highlanders are next scheduled to face San Leandro and Alameda on March 27 at Monarch Bay Golf Course.
