Piedmont boys soccer hammers Novato, 6-1

Piedmont High School’s boys soccer team began its quest for a third consecutive North Coast Section championship with a 6-1 win over visiting Novato on Feb. 13 at Witter Field.

The Highlanders host Archie Williams on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.

Piedmont scored the first six goals of the game before Novato finally got one late. It was 2-0 at halftime. Riley Stratman scored his first goal of the season in the eighth minute. Harper Mand scored just three minutes later.

Enzo Bernales the scored two goals in the opening 10 minutes of the second half. Logan Faucher scored off of a cross from Bosco Lorin to make it 5-0. Jacob Rodriguez capped Piedmont’s scoring with a goal in the 70th minute.

Archie Williams went to overtime to defeat Campolindo, 4-3 on Feb. 13. The Falcons are 9-6-4 on the season. The Highlanders are 11-2-3. Match time is 7 p.m.
