Name: Jill Rose Roure
Members of Family: Pam and Bill Roure, John, Bridget, Aubrey, Olive, and Diana and Brett
Age: 6 months
Breed: Golden Retriever
Adoption Story: After our previous dog, Bentley, passed away, one of our friends sent us a picture of Jill they’d seen on a Golden Retriever rescue website, True Love Rescue. We drove to Lodi to pick her up with our granddaughter who chose her middle name—Rose. There were 15 other Golden Retrievers there, including Jill’s brother, Jack.
Likes: She loves to play ball at night. She’ll drop her ball on the sofa and have us throw it around the house—she’s the best ‘retriever’ out of the three Golden Retrievers we’ve had. She’s very interested in the TV; she’ll sit on Bill’s lap and watch football with him (even though she’s 44 pounds). She adores our grandchildren as well.
Dislikes: The San Francisco Giants.
Interesting facts: She’s scared of a small stool by our couch: once it got knocked over and it scared her, now whenever she’s being naughty we’ll show her the stool and she’ll stop misbehaving.
I love this column! So cute, funny, well-written.
