Piedmont High School’s boys soccer team has won its first four matches. The Highlanders, who will not have a home field this season due to construction at Witter Field, got a 3-0 victory at Encinal on Dec. 15.
Logan Faucher scored off a cross from Bosco Lorin for Piedmont. Andrew McLaughlin scored to make it 2-0 and Jacques Saldhana scored the third goal. The latter’s brother, Axel Saldhana, had the shutout in goal for the Highlanders.
On Dec. 13, Piedmont defeated Alameda, 3-1. Faucher again scored, this time on an assist from his brother Jacob Faucher. Enzo Bernales had two goals. McLaughlin had the other assist. Dylan Speed had Alameda’s goal.
Piedmont opened the season on Dec. 6 with a 2-1 win at Hayward. Lorin had a goal for the Highlanders and Aiden Woolwine scored on a penalty kick. Eric Alvarado scored for the Farmers. Piedmont followed that up with a 2-0 win at Tennyson on Dec. 8. Bernales and Woolwine had the goals and Gianluca Bini and Logan Faucher had assists.
