Tis the season for holiday inflatables and other festive outdoor decorations. While we don’t have the numbers to back us up, it definitely looks like the inflatable trend is here to stay as more households in town choose this whimsical approach to decorating. Christmas Tree Lane in Alameda is in no danger of losing its title as the East Bay’s best holiday lighting destination, but there are enough lovely nighttime lights right here in town to make a Christmas eve drive through town a holiday tradition to consider.

Also nearby: Mountain View Cemetery at the top of Piedmont Avenue hosts its 15th Holiday Circle of Lights — a free, month-long holiday light exhibition from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. featuring scenes from Santa’s workshop and other holiday-inspired themes — a giant Nutcracker, reindeer, candy canes, and more. The cemetery has a holiday remembrance tree, too — you can pick up an ornament from the main office and decorate it on site.
