In a social media post on Nov. 14, the Piedmont Police Department said that on Nov. 13 at 7:00 a.m. officers responded to a residential burglary in the 200 block of Greenbank Avenue. The victim reported several large items including tools, an oven, and a toilet stolen from the residence overnight. During the investigation, our officers used ALPR data and located a Ford Pickup that appeared to be involved in the crime.
They responded to an address in Oakland where the truck was registered and located both the truck and the stolen property out front. While on scene, two subjects returned to the truck and were taken into custody without incident.
Several replica handguns were located inside the truck and one of the subjects also had a warrant and was in possession of over 4 grams of methamphetamine. Some of the property in the vehicle was positively identified as stolen and returned to the owner.
