The Piedmont Education Foundation is proud to announce the chairs for the 2023-24 Giving Campaign for Piedmont Schools, Kim Hunter and Catie Osborn.

Kim has students at Piedmont Middle and Piedmont High Schools, and Catie, who grew up in Piedmont, has two at Havens. “I was in Chicago and came back to the Bay Area to be close to my family,” says Catie, “We chose Piedmont so our kids could get the same foundational education that helped me.”

“We were living in Oakland and drove through Piedmont one day and saw all these enchanting scarecrows!,” says Kim. “I thought this was an incredibly creative place. We moved here when my boys were still toddlers, and we were thrilled to find a community that truly embraced us.”

Both chairs joined the Giving Campaign this year because they know exactly why they are here. “It’s for the schools,” says Catie, ”There’s no question that our kids are getting a good education and that they’re enjoying learning.” And they understand the reciprocal relationship between the schools and the city. Adds Kim, “The schools are the heart of the community, and the community supports the schools.”

PEF and the Giving Campaign committee invite the community to celebrate the launch of this year’s campaign with a popsicle party in Piedmont Park on Tuesday, Sept. 19 from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. (2 p.m. and 3 p.m. at Beach school). Popsicles will be donated by Mulberry’s Market.

Parents new to Piedmont schools are invited to a reception that evening at 7 p.m. at Community Hall to learn more. Watch your mailboxes for this year’s Giving Campaign letter with information on how to support our schools.
