Free performance of Hamlet in Dracena Park on Aug. 13

Community members are invited to a free performance of “Hamlet” by The Vallejo Shakespeare Group on Sunday, Aug. 13 at 4 p.m. in lower Dracena Park (130 Dracena Avenue). Seating is first come, first served, picnic-style on the lawn. Friendly, well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be on leash.

The performance will take place in the quarry area, next to the grove of dawn redwoods. Bring a blanket or a low beach chair to enjoy the performance.

Parking in the area is extremely limited — please walk or bike to the venue.

This performance marks the second appearance of Vallejo Shakespeare in Piedmont. In 2019, the group staged “Henry V” in Dracena Park. Established in 2010, Vallejo Shakespeare Group produces one live Shakespeare production each summer, with free performances in outdoor settings across the Bay Area. The troupe uses minimal sets and costuming, putting the focus on the actors’ performances.
