Piedmont Swim Team shines in weekend competition

A triumphant PST gathers on Sunday

Three hundred swimmers from seven greater Bay Area teams competed for three days over the July 21 weekend at Mills College at Northeastern University Pool in Oakland. This invitational team competition is not only about doing well individually but as a team and a community. The Piedmont Swim Team won the overall Redwood Empire Swim League team competition by a large margin.

Three PST swimmers took home trophies for being the high point winners for their age group. Connor Carnazzo (boys 11-12), Magnolia Stoll (girls 13-14), and Paige Arnold (girls 15 and over). Asher Takazawa qualified for his first sectionals time and the team said goodbye to Paige Arnold and Simon Lins, who will be going to college in the fall.  For Arnold and Lins’ final races, their teammates gathered around their lanes to loudly cheer them on.
