Headed through the tunnel for the long weekend? Heat advisory in effect

June gloom will make way for more summer-like temperatures later this week, especially for inland and central coast areas. Temperatures in Oakland are expected to hit 80 on Saturday according to the National Weather Service on Tuesday.

A warming trend will occur through the remainder of the week with widespread 90s to near 100° temperatures this weekend. Places such as Concord, Livermore, and King city have the potential to reach 100° by Saturday. Meanwhile, temperatures will hold in the upper 60s to 70s near the coast.
